Zada, a single mother,
and her 4-year-old son
Hazir survive thanks to some coins that people
are giving her in the streets of Sarajevo. The 39-year-old
Roma woman was displaced during the war. In the general confusion of
that time, she lost all her documents and therefore cannot receive any
social assistance and health care. She is nearly illiterate and
heavily sick and therefore incapable of dealing with lengthy and
complicated administrative paperwork. Pharos assists
her in this respect and bears the expenses.
